Exercise Vs. Diet: The Real Truth About Weight Reduction
Exercise is an important component, although yes, you can lose weight with diet alone. Without one, just a part of your unwanted weight loss comes from fat -- you're also stripping away muscle and bone strength and density.

Since exercising stimulates development of those metabolic tissues, slimming down by exercising means you're burning mostly fat. Because muscle takes up less space than fat does, you look smaller and your clothes fit better, though the number on the scale may not sound as impressive. Data reveal that to shed weight with exercise and maintain it, you don't have to run marathons.

You need to simply develop to five to seven workouts per week, 50 minutes each, in a moderate intensity, like brisk walking or Zumba. Resistance training helps, too. But don't simply do isolated weight-lifting exercises like biceps curls -- you'll get leaner faster by utilizing the body weight against gravity, just like movements like squats, lunges, push-ups and planks.

And, obviously, beyond burning fat, people shouldn't forget that exercise may have other impressive health perks, like improving the caliber of your sleep, lowering your cholesterol and reducing your stress level.
